Traditional Choral Ensembles

Bel Canto (Adv. Treble Chorus HN)

Advanced-level Treble choir. The ensemble studies and performs challenging music in all styles and languages. Students will advance in sight-singing, vocal production, and musicianship. Students will perform at school concerts and events, community events, and competitions. Students must have advanced singing and music-reading skills in order to be in Bel Canto. Membership in the group is by audition only for grades 9-12. A course fee is required. 

Troubadours (Basso Chorus/Bass Chorus HN)

Intermediate/Advanced level basso choir. The ensemble is made up of experienced tenors and basses in the Westfield High School Choral Program. They will may earn and rehearse Chorale pieces as well as during Bulldog Block. The ensemble studies and performs challenging music in all styles and languages. Students will advance in sight-singing, vocal production, and musicianship. Students will perform at school concerts and events, community events, and competitions. Students must have advanced singing and music-reading skills in order to be in Troubadours. Membership in the group is by audition only for grades 9-12. A course fee is required. 

Treble Choir (Soprano/Alto Chorus)

Entry-level Treble Choir. Students will continue to improve their singing and musicianship skills while studying and performing challenging music in a variety of styles and languages. Students will perform at school concerts and competitions. Students will learn skills that assist in all aspects of the performing arts, including musicals. Classes focus on energizing the students to accomplish the musical performance. Chorale is open to all students in grades 9 - 12. No audition required. A course fee is required. 

Specialized Singing Ensembles

Chamber Singers (Adv. Mixed Chorus HN)

Artist-level mixed choir that meets as an 8th period - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 7:00am to 8:00am. Students will perform at school concerts, community events, musical shows, ceremonies, and competitions. The ensemble studies and performs challenging music in all styles and languages. Students must have advanced singing and music-reading skills in order to be in Chamber Singers. Membership in the group is by audition only, and students must be in another choral ensemble to be eligible. A course fee is required. 

SoundWaves Show Choir (Show/Swing Chorus)

Show Choir is a performing singing group designed to incorporate all aspects of stage singing. Songs are selected from Broadway musicals, jazz, popular music, and cabarets. Students will perform choreographed dancing during the singing performances. They will perform during school concerts, community events, competitions and special performances.  Membership in the group is by audition only and open to all students in grades 9-12.

GoldTones

GoldTones is an a capella singing group designed to perform popular (rock, R&B, jazz, etc.) music using only voices. This is an after school, extra-curricular singing group. The focus is on fun, musicianship, and performance. Membership in the group is by audition only and open to all students in grades 9-12.
